my name is Lucas Brookins. I started working on pianos when I was 16. Within a year, I started doing apprenticeships with a few other well known piano technicians in the area. I joined the Piano Technicians Guild the day that I turned 18. Within a week, I passed two of the three exams to become a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild. I received a scholarship from the Piano Technicians Guild to take my final exam at the convention, which was in Denver. I passed my final exam and became a Registered Piano Technician. Since then, I have tuned thousands of pianos, from spinets to concert grands. In 2017 I went out to Los Angeles and spent a week training with Shigeru Kawai at the Colburn Conservatory.
